Total Common Ministry
Eight churches in the Diocese of Olympia practice Total Common Ministry, discerning, developing and displaying the gifts for ministry of every member. Local training of a Ministry Support Circle for each church takes about three years. This normally includes the ordination of one or more priests and deacons and the commissioning of others for teaching, preaching, pastoral care, music, liturgy, hospitality, evangelism, stewardship, administration and other ministry. Rather than a community gathered around a minister, they are a community of ministers.
