small_sarah-monroe-fellowshipThe Rev. Sarah Monroe’s work in Aberdeen to alleviate poverty and suffering has gained national attention. Monroe is one of two recipients of fellowships from the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society.

“They’re teaching us how to reach out into the community” and use local partnerships to “turn the resources that you have at your disposal loose on attacking issues of economic injustice,” the Rev. Mark Stevenson, the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society’s domestic poverty missioner said.

More information and pictures of what Monroe is doing can be found in the Episcopal News Service article.
