We’re excited that the author of the companion curriculum to the popular “Holy Troublemakers & Unconventional Saints,” Canon Wendy Claire Barrie, will give us an overview of her work and ideas for incorporating it into ministry to children and youth.

Holy Troublemakers, written by Daneen Akers, emphasizes the stories of women, LGBTQ people, people of color, Indigenous people, and others who are too often written out of religious narratives. Short chapters (with gorgeous art — a different artist for each saint) profile the lives of people like: Thich Nhat Hanh, Wangari Maathai, Rachel Held Evans, and even Mr. Rogers and Mary Oliver.
