Habitat for Humanity – Interfaith Build 2024
Volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity Interfaith Build Project (Sep 2024)!
Habitat for Humanity is excited to invite you to join an inspiring opportunity to make a tangible difference in the community. Habitat for Humanity Seattle King & Kittitas Counties is hosting the Interfaith Build Project at their Yarrow Cottages location in South Park, and they need your help!
Project Dates: September 6, 7, 13, and 14, 2024
Location: Yarrow Cottages, South Park
The Interfaith Build is a cherished tradition, started over 20 years ago in memory of September 11, aiming to bring together faith communities in both love and action. This project celebrates our unity, demonstrating that together we’re stronger and can achieve great things, including addressing our regional housing crisis.
Why Volunteer
Fellowship and Teamwork: Join a diverse team of volunteers from various faith backgrounds in our mission to build decent homes for all.
Hands-on Impact: Participate in the hands-on work that Habitat for Humanity is known for, contributing directly to building stronger communities.
Interfaith Learning: Share and learn about the different ways faith calls us to action and service through volunteering and possible speaking opportunities.
Community Service: Help provide decent, affordable housing to those in need, while engaging in meaningful interfaith dialogue and cooperation.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Build Activities: We are looking for groups of 5-8 people per faith tradition to join our build days. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. All tools, safety equipment, and supervision will be provided.
Be a Speaker: Share how your faith inspires action and service in a 5-10 minute talk.
Provide a Meal: Help prepare and serve faith-oriented meals for our volunteers, with vegetarian options included.
