Each time he appears to them, Jesus consoles the disciples that he is still with them, and at the same time he reminds them that the Risen Lord will not be found in the old, familiar ways. Like the disciples, we find that life as we know it—our routines, the people and places that bring us meaning, how we recreate and how we worship—has changed.
