The Peter R. Hallock Institute Symposium
October 16 - October 17
The Peter R. Hallock Symposium begins with a key-note address in which Dr. Jason Anderson reflects on Peter Hallock’s timeless music and lasting contributions to the Church, followed by a panel discussion of Hallock’s compositional styles and musicianship, and exploration of a visual arts exhibit recalling Peter’s life and ministry at Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle. Sunday includes a service of Holy Communion with Peter’s music prominently featured, a reading session of newly published works especially suited to smaller church and parish choirs, and concludes with a celebration of the Compline Choir’s 65th anniversary. This promises to be a weekend filled with scholarly discourse and reflection, celebration, and beautiful music in the Holy Box that is Saint Mark’s Cathedral. All symposium events are free-of-charge, but we ask those who are able to make a contribution in support of the Peter R. Hallock Institute. Visit the event site for full schedule and to register.
