SUMMARY:Cathedral Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:April 25 \nCathedral Day is a “family reunion” for Episcopalians from across western Washington. It’s a time for connecting across congregations and experiencing all your cathedral has to offer. For centuries\, cathedrals have served as Christian pilgrimage sites\, drawing people of faith into their orbit of wonder and awe. This year’s Cathedral Day celebrates the idea of pilgrimage\, with Saint Mark’s serving as your sacred destination. \nThis journey might feel especially resonant for those who seek to be confirmed\, received\, or reaffirmed by our bishop\, the Rt. Rev. Philip N. LaBelle\, during the Cathedral Day liturgy. As Jesus said to the first ones to follow him as people of The Way: Come and see…so are we invited to join on this journey together. \nPlease RSVP for all attendees in order to secure your free food truck lunch. Your voucher(s) will be available at the event. \nAll congregations attending Cathedral Day are invited to bring their banners to carry in the procession. \nSTREAM THE SERVICE OR VIEW THE RECORDING\nThe service will be streamed at saintmarks.org/livestream. After the service\, an archive recording will be available on the cathedral website.

SUMMARY:The Traveler and the Bishop on the State of America's Democracy and Christian Nationalism
DESCRIPTION:April 26\, 6:00 pm \nFree Event\, Registration Required \nJoin Rick Steves for a European take on Trump and American democracy (basically his “No Kings” rally speech\, updated and with an indoor voice). Then\, Lutheran Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee (ELCA) will share a hard look (inspired by scripture) at the perversion of Christianity called “Christian Nationalism.” Rick’s talk will share how history is speaking to us — and how\, if we listen\, we can better understand and meet the challenges facing democracy in the USA. And\, whether you consider yourself a person of faith or not\, Bishop Shelley’s message will bring a new dimension to your thinking about the place of religion in the political discourse of our country.

SUMMARY:Following in the Footsteps of Paul: A Pilgrimage to Greece and Turkey
DESCRIPTION:October 8–19\, 2026\nEarly registration discount ends: December 31\, 2025\nRegistration closes: April 1\, 2026\nFull payment due: July 1\, 2026 \n$5\,999 Registration per Person (Double Occupancy until 12/31/25)\n$6\,149 Registration per Person (Double Occupancy from 1/1/26)\n$1\,500 Single Supplement (Limited Availability) \nLeader: The Very Rev. Steven L. Thomason \nGreece has often been called the birthplace of democracy and the cradle of Western Civilization. It\, together with Turkey\, is also the earliest home of Christianity outside of the Palestine/Israel. Led by The Very Rev. Steven L. Thomason and local archaeological guides on the ground\, this 12-day pilgrimage traces the footsteps of Paul in Greece and Turkey as he engaged the early Christian communities there. Our journey will take us to the well-preserved ruins of Athens\, Corinth\, Philippi\, and Thessaloniki in Greece. Along the way\, you’ll marvel at the byzantine monasteries perched on the cliffs of Meteora. In Turkey\, we’ll visit Smyrna and Pergamum\, two of the churches to whom Revelation was written to encourage them during troubled times. On our last full day we’ll explore Ephesus\, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Letter to the Ephesians is a remarkable witness to Paul’s courage and encouragement to the beleaguered Church. Note: Our schedule may be adjusted based on guide availability. \nFull details\, including pilgrimage brochure\, can be found at saintmarks.org/learn/wisdom-school/pilgrimages/
