SUMMARY:Prayer Vigil for Immigrant Solidarity
DESCRIPTION:April 16\, 6:30 pm \nThis April\, the diocese is hosting the annual churchwide AANHPI Leadership Retreat in partnership with Asiamerica Ministries. Over 70 Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Episcopalians will embark on a pilgrimage to sites of AANHPI history and memory in Seattle\, Tacoma\, and Bainbridge Island. The group will weave these stories with present-day solidarity with migrant communities currently under threat. \nAll are welcome to join the retreat’s prayer vigil at Christ Church\, Tacoma. We will hear from community organizers\, listen to testimonies from detainees\, and pray together. We will also have a chance to fold tsuru or Japanese cranes as symbols of hope\, peace\, and compassion. \nYou and your church are invited to fold tsuru ahead of this event too. We will be hanging strands of solidarity at the NW detention center and other sites along our journey. Feel free to write a prayer if you wish and fold with your community at coffee hour\, etc! Cranes can be mailed flat to the Diocesan House or brought to the vigil.

SUMMARY:Cathedral Day 2026
DESCRIPTION:April 25 \nCathedral Day is a “family reunion” for Episcopalians from across western Washington. It’s a time for connecting across congregations and experiencing all your cathedral has to offer. For centuries\, cathedrals have served as Christian pilgrimage sites\, drawing people of faith into their orbit of wonder and awe. This year’s Cathedral Day celebrates the idea of pilgrimage\, with Saint Mark’s serving as your sacred destination. \nThis journey might feel especially resonant for those who seek to be confirmed\, received\, or reaffirmed by our bishop\, the Rt. Rev. Philip N. LaBelle\, during the Cathedral Day liturgy. As Jesus said to the first ones to follow him as people of The Way: Come and see…so are we invited to join on this journey together. \nPlease RSVP for all attendees in order to secure your free food truck lunch. Your voucher(s) will be available at the event. \nAll congregations attending Cathedral Day are invited to bring their banners to carry in the procession. \nSTREAM THE SERVICE OR VIEW THE RECORDING\nThe service will be streamed at saintmarks.org/livestream. After the service\, an archive recording will be available on the cathedral website.

SUMMARY:Anti-Racism Training
DESCRIPTION:May 2\, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm \nThis one-day training experience is based on “Seeing the Face of God in Each Other: The Antiracism Training Manual of the Episcopal Church.” We will begin with the conviction\, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant\, that we are all children of God who still bear the image of God. From there\, we will learn (or refresh our learning) about the history and teachings of the Episcopal Church regarding race and racism. Participants will analyze the dynamics of power and oppression so that they can engage in the visioning of an alternate reality for the church and society. That vision for us is the creation of the Beloved Community. As we are always in a state of becoming\, this training seeks to help us move along the path of dismantling racism.

SUMMARY:"Immigrant" Justice Prayer Walk
DESCRIPTION:May 16\, 12:00 pm \nAll relatives are invited to walk in love\, prayer\, and collective protection of our families and our immigrant communities under attack for the 2nd Annual “Immigrant” Justice Prayer Walk. We will begin at St. Luke’s in Ballard and walk 2.5 miles\, stopping at Commodore Park for a Coast Salish water ceremony and finishing at Daybreak Star for food and cultural sharing. The diocese is honored to be an event sponsor and part of the organizing coalition of indigenous\, environmental\, and other community-centered groups. Let’s show up for our communities under threat! Join for any part! Read more about the walk here. \nTangible Solidarity Invitation\nAs a part of the All My Relations coalition hosting the prayer walk\, the diocese has been invited to lead the snacks/water provisioning. Last year\, this walk drew over 250 people and we want to offer some tangible hospitality for the journey! We plan to fill and pull 3-5 wagons with water\, snacks\, and first aid throughout the walk. We have 2-3 wagons so far and could use a few more! We also need additional donations and volunteers to help pull the wagons. Suggested donation items: water (bonus points for less plastic options!)\, granola or protein bars\, trail mix\, chips\, shareable fruit like tangerines or bananas\, etc. \nIf you’re interested in contributing as an individual or as a church\, please email Jessica Thompson at hopesclan@gmail.com by 5/11. Financial support also goes a long way to support the safety and food costs for this event. Donate at the website above.

SUMMARY:A Century of Faith\, A Future of Hope: Celebrating St. Luke's Seattle
DESCRIPTION:May 24\, 3:00 pm \nFor over 100 years\, St. Luke’s Seattle has been rooted in the heart of Ballard — a place of baptism and burial\, worship and service. Through seasons of growth and hardship\, God’s faithfulness has never wavered\, and neither has the generosity of the people who have called this place their church. \nThat legacy is visible today in the Edible Hope Kitchen\, feeding our vulnerable neighbors for nearly 40 years\, and in St. Luke’s Apartments\, whose Grand Opening of 84 units this April marked the first affordable family housing built in Ballard in over three decades. \nNow we look ahead. Plans are underway for additional housing and a new worship and service space on the same ground where we have stood for more than a century — a new building with a dedicated chapel\, multi-use sanctuary\, and classrooms for affordable childcare and congregation programs. \nBefore construction begins\, we invite you to join us on Sunday\, May 24th at 3:00 PM as Bishop LaBelle deconsecrates the Chapel on the Feast of Pentecost. We will celebrate the saints who have gone before us\, give thanks for God’s presence through the years\, and lift our prayers for the generations to come. A reception with archival photos and shared stories will follow in Bennett Hall (fully accessible). \nThis will be a time of grief and joy\, sadness and hope— and your presence will make it more complete. \nThe Chapel service requires climbing stairs; please contact us with accessibility questions. RSVP or reach us at info@stlukesseattle.org. Learn more at the St. Luke’s website. \nEveryone is welcome.

SUMMARY:Keeping the 250th Anniversary Amid Political Turmoil
DESCRIPTION:June 9\, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm \nCo-Sponsored by the Commission for Liturgy and Arts \nFor those of us who live in the United States\, July 4\, 2026\, marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. \nIn the midst of surging Christian Nationalism and the practice in some churches of celebrating secular and national holidays\, we ask: \nHow might our parishes offer thanks and lament for the nation’s story in a time when corrupt and authoritarian voices seem to dominate the news? \nJoin us on Tuesday\, June 9\, at 1:00 pm (Pacific) as we discuss guidelines for Sunday\, July 5\, that can shape preaching\, praying\, and singing. \nTo register\, send your email to openaplm@gmail.com with “250” in the subject line – and do so no later than Sunday\, June 7\, at 5:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Anti-Racism Training
DESCRIPTION:June 13\, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm \nThis one-day training experience is based on “Seeing the Face of God in Each Other: The Antiracism Training Manual of the Episcopal Church.” We will begin with the conviction\, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant\, that we are all children of God who still bear the image of God. \nRegister here: https://bcrook.wufoo.com/forms/z123spu71mz7sxw/

SUMMARY:College for Congregational Development - 2026 Summer Sessions
DESCRIPTION:June 21-26: Year A\nAugust 16-21: Year B \nRegistration for our 2026 Summer Sessions at The Sacred Waters Center for Restoration and Retreat is now open! \nOur two dates are (Sunday afternoon through Friday noon)\nJune 21–26: Year A\nAugust 16–21: Year B \nWe are doing two different curriculums this Summer. First time participants can start with either Year A or Year B. \nIn June\, we will be doing Year A of our curriculum\, which focuses primarily on the spiritual life\, self‑awareness\, and internal capacity of congregational leaders and communities\, establishing the theological and relational foundations necessary for effective congregational development and adaptive change. Participants will work on facilitation skills\, transformational listening processes\, organizational systems\, understanding who they are as leaders\, trust building\, conflict management\, and sustainability. \nIn August we will be offering “Year B” of our curriculum\, which focuses primarily on organizational culture\, group dynamics\, congregational vocation/identity\, how we join God in gathering-transforming-sending folk\, change processes\, episcopal identity\, neighborhood engagement\, cultural diversity\, power dynamics\, and developmental skills for liberation and social justice work. \nThe College for Congregational Development is a comprehensive training program that originated in the Diocese of Olympia in 2009 and has since expanded to dioceses across the United States. The College seeks to nurture and develop congregational development practitioners from within existing parish lay and clergy leadership. Drawing on congregational and organization development theory and practice\, it focuses on developing healthy\, responsive leadership\, facilitation skills\, and teamwork\, through understanding of Anglican/Episcopal ethos\, culture\, spirituality\, and ways of being the church today. It is a two-year program. \nBoth sessions are residential. Tuition covers room and board at the conference center\, materials\, trainers and other costs. \nPlease click here to go to our website to register or get more information.
