SUMMARY:Keeping the 250th Anniversary Amid Political Turmoil
DESCRIPTION:June 9\, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm \nCo-Sponsored by the Commission for Liturgy and Arts \nFor those of us who live in the United States\, July 4\, 2026\, marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. \nIn the midst of surging Christian Nationalism and the practice in some churches of celebrating secular and national holidays\, we ask: \nHow might our parishes offer thanks and lament for the nation’s story in a time when corrupt and authoritarian voices seem to dominate the news? \nJoin us on Tuesday\, June 9\, at 1:00 pm (Pacific) as we discuss guidelines for Sunday\, July 5\, that can shape preaching\, praying\, and singing. \nTo register\, send your email to openaplm@gmail.com with “250” in the subject line – and do so no later than Sunday\, June 7\, at 5:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Anti-Racism Training
DESCRIPTION:June 13\, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm \nThis one-day training experience is based on “Seeing the Face of God in Each Other: The Antiracism Training Manual of the Episcopal Church.” We will begin with the conviction\, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant\, that we are all children of God who still bear the image of God. From there\, we will learn (or refresh our learning) about the history and teachings of the Episcopal Church regarding race and racism. Participants will analyze the dynamics of power and oppression so that they can engage in the visioning of an alternate reality for the church and society. That vision for us is the creation of the Beloved Community. As we are always in a state of becoming\, this training seeks to help us move along the path of dismantling racism. \nRegister here: https://bcrook.wufoo.com/forms/z123spu71mz7sxw/

SUMMARY:College for Congregational Development - 2026 Summer Sessions
DESCRIPTION:June 21-26: Year A\nAugust 16-21: Year B \nRegistration for our 2026 Summer Sessions at The Sacred Waters Center for Restoration and Retreat is now open! \nOur two dates are (Sunday afternoon through Friday noon)\nJune 21–26: Year A\nAugust 16–21: Year B \nWe are doing two different curriculums this Summer. First time participants can start with either Year A or Year B. \nIn June\, we will be doing Year A of our curriculum\, which focuses primarily on the spiritual life\, self‑awareness\, and internal capacity of congregational leaders and communities\, establishing the theological and relational foundations necessary for effective congregational development and adaptive change. Participants will work on facilitation skills\, transformational listening processes\, organizational systems\, understanding who they are as leaders\, trust building\, conflict management\, and sustainability. \nIn August we will be offering “Year B” of our curriculum\, which focuses primarily on organizational culture\, group dynamics\, congregational vocation/identity\, how we join God in gathering-transforming-sending folk\, change processes\, episcopal identity\, neighborhood engagement\, cultural diversity\, power dynamics\, and developmental skills for liberation and social justice work. \nThe College for Congregational Development is a comprehensive training program that originated in the Diocese of Olympia in 2009 and has since expanded to dioceses across the United States. The College seeks to nurture and develop congregational development practitioners from within existing parish lay and clergy leadership. Drawing on congregational and organization development theory and practice\, it focuses on developing healthy\, responsive leadership\, facilitation skills\, and teamwork\, through understanding of Anglican/Episcopal ethos\, culture\, spirituality\, and ways of being the church today. It is a two-year program. \nBoth sessions are residential. Tuition covers room and board at the conference center\, materials\, trainers and other costs. \nPlease click here to go to our website to register or get more information.

SUMMARY:Anti-Racism Training
DESCRIPTION:September 26\, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm \nThis one-day training experience is based on “Seeing the Face of God in Each Other: The Antiracism Training Manual of the Episcopal Church.” We will begin with the conviction\, grounded in the Baptismal Covenant\, that we are all children of God who still bear the image of God. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Following in the Footsteps of Paul: A Pilgrimage to Greece and Turkey
DESCRIPTION:October 8–19\, 2026\nEarly registration discount ends: December 31\, 2025\nRegistration closes: April 1\, 2026\nFull payment due: July 1\, 2026 \n$5\,999 Registration per Person (Double Occupancy until 12/31/25)\n$6\,149 Registration per Person (Double Occupancy from 1/1/26)\n$1\,500 Single Supplement (Limited Availability) \nLeader: The Very Rev. Steven L. Thomason \nGreece has often been called the birthplace of democracy and the cradle of Western Civilization. It\, together with Turkey\, is also the earliest home of Christianity outside of the Palestine/Israel. Led by The Very Rev. Steven L. Thomason and local archaeological guides on the ground\, this 12-day pilgrimage traces the footsteps of Paul in Greece and Turkey as he engaged the early Christian communities there. Our journey will take us to the well-preserved ruins of Athens\, Corinth\, Philippi\, and Thessaloniki in Greece. Along the way\, you’ll marvel at the byzantine monasteries perched on the cliffs of Meteora. In Turkey\, we’ll visit Smyrna and Pergamum\, two of the churches to whom Revelation was written to encourage them during troubled times. On our last full day we’ll explore Ephesus\, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Letter to the Ephesians is a remarkable witness to Paul’s courage and encouragement to the beleaguered Church. Note: Our schedule may be adjusted based on guide availability. \nFull details\, including pilgrimage brochure\, can be found at saintmarks.org/learn/wisdom-school/pilgrimages/
