Susan Bloomfield-Spangler presents the final organ concert in this year’s season celebrating the completion of the Schlicker organ on Saturday, June 3 at 3:00 pm. Bloomfield-Spangler will be presenting a concert of organ music by queer and female composers such as Dame Ethel Smyth, Samuel Barber, Jean-Baptiste Lully, and Florence B. Price.
Bloomfield-Spangler is a multi-faceted musician with talents as an organist, pianist, vocalist, choral director, and teacher, and currently serves as the Director of Music at St. John’s.
Susan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organ Performance with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master’s Degree in Music History from Western Washington University. Additionally, Susan is trained in the application of cross-cultural music and healing through the Open Ear Center.
