The Elusive Quest: Reconciliation in a World of Conflict with David Porter

September 19 | 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

$45 Registration | Scholarships Available

Join St. Thomas, Medina for this unique retreat opportunity facilitated by internationally-recognized peace and reconciliation expert David Porter. Together, we will reflect on our Christian calling to be reconciled reconcilers. What this means as we work to understand our differences, redeem our relationships and transform our communities, will be explored. We will also spend time looking at several different approaches to the practice of reconciliation in our ministry.

Born in Belfast, David Porter is a bridge builder and practitioner of reconciliation, skills he developed and honed while helping to broker a peace deal in the midst of the Troubles.

From 2016-2022, he served as Chief of Staff to the Archbishop of Canterbury, and beforehand as Director for Reconciliation at Lambeth Palace and Coventry Cathedral. Porter has been an honorary Research Fellow in Peace Studies at Coventry University and a visiting Practitioner Fellow at the Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School.

Cost is $45; scholarship aid is available.
