The St. Margaret’s Jazz Compline is a traditional end of day sung liturgy with a modern twist. The ancient canonical office hour for Night Prayers is a peaceful and restful service that reflects on the day and prepares for the night. By combining the Episcopal plainsong setting with a jazz harmonization and accompanied by jazz musicians, the aesthetic is to move the listener into a thoughtful place for reflection and worship in a familiar musical style without losing a connection to our tradition and history.
