Safeguarding God’s Children
The Diocese of Olympia takes its responsibility for the safety of our people seriously. The Safe Church program teaches how to identify and prevent abuse within the church community, and is conducted several times per year, free of charge. Renee Balodis-Cox, a certified trainer in Edgework methodology, will teach effective ways to approach and respond to those in crisis, particularly those suffering from mental illness and drug abuse. You will learn strategies for safe, positive, and helpful responses to situations that can be dangerous. We hope the training gives you more confidence and compassion in dealing with those in crisis. Lenten Series: “I Will with God’s Help”
Mother Joyce, Sister D, Michele Rogers, Peter Ostrander, and others will examine how we are called to commit our lives to Christ through our Baptismal Covenant. Come for Chapel at 5:30pm, then gather for a Soup Supper at 6:30pm, followed by a program from 7:00-8:30pm. The sessions will include facilitated small group discernment work. Ceilidh Communion for Maundy Thursday
Celebrate Jesus' Last Supper using a liturgy developed at the Abbey on Iona, Scotland. A Ceilidh (kay-lee) is a sharing of songs, stories and food in which all are welcome and gathered. Following this informal Communion, sing as the altar is stripped in remembrance of Jesus' being taken away to suffer his Passion.
