Welcome to the Episcopal Church’s updated on-line program for Safe Church/Safe Communities certification.

For those taking these online courses, start by filling out and electronically submitting the “Enrollment Sheet.”  Once you’ve worked through the nine modules, submit the “Completion Form.” This will ensure that you receive your official certification and are in compliance with the Safe Church/Safe Communities requirements of the Diocese of Olympia.

ENROLLMENT SHEET

In accordance with The Episcopal Church’s Safe Church, Safe Communities effort, on-line training is now offered for certification for Children/Youth and Vulnerable Adults. This training fosters a culture of safety and inclusion for all people and covers a broad overview of issues of vulnerability, power, and healthy boundaries. It’s designed to equip all people to live out their Baptismal Covenant. Certifications are valid for three years, and then should be renewed. Learn More

The required nine courses for Safe Church training are listed below. All nine trainings should take 3-4 hours to complete (total).

  1. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Universal Training: Introduction and Theological Background
  2. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Universal Training: Organizational Rules & Policies
  3. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Universal Training: Inclusion
  4. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Universal Training: Healthy Boundaries
  5. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Specialty Training: Power & Relationships
  6. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Specialty Training: Pastoral Relationships
  7. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Specialty Training: Abuse and Neglect
  8. Safe Church, Safe Communities – Specialty Training: Bullying
  9. Duty to Report: Mandated Reporter

 

STEP 2. Once you have completed the trainings, submit the form below.

STEP 3. Your certificate will be emailed to you and to your congregation.
