Please join us in welcoming The Rev. Theresa Newell, who has been called to serve as priest-in-charge at Redeemer, Kenmore. Theresa will begin that call on September 2, 2025.

Theresa grew up in southern Illinois. After marrying her husband, Dave, they moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they lived for 16 years. In Anchorage, Theresa completed her first master’s degree and taught elementary school. It was also here that Theresa and Dave began their blended family of foster, adopted, and biological children. They moved their family first to California and then to Nebraska (where Theresa completed her master’s in ministry) before moving to Washington in 2019.
Theresa is a board-certified chaplain who has served at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds for 5 ½ years. During this time, she attended Bexley Seabury Seminary. She has also served as a curate at the Church of the Redeemer in Kenmore and is thrilled to be called as priest-in-charge.
Theresa enjoys long walks, bike rides, good books (especially mysteries), rock painting, and spending time with family whenever she can.
If you would like to contact Theresa, you may reach out to her at tnewell@redeemer-kenmore.org.
Keep Theresa in your prayers as she prepares to begin her new call, along with all congregations and clergy in transition.
