St. Luke’s, Seattle, celebrates the completion of the brand new St. Luke’s Apartments, 84 units of affordable housing in an 8-story building on land retained by the Diocese of Olympia. With many two and three-bedroom units, families with as many as five children have already moved in.
The new St. Luke’s apartments include a rooftop with a children’s play area, solar panels, gardens, and a view of the Olympics, Cascades, Mt. Rainier, and the Space Needle!
A family who had been living in their car for the past three months was able to move in and receive assistance to fully furnish their new three-bedroom apartment. The teenagers are now enrolled at Ballard High School.
Phase 2 of the redevelopment will create 206 additional units of housing and a new church space for the congregation on site. Construction is anticipated in 2026 or early 2027. With the support of so many, they have reached $2M of their $2.5M capital campaign goal.
