Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.

In these days of intrusive technology, separation from one another and rancor in so many domains, the ancient paths would bid us return to personal connection, to community, and to lovingkindness. The Bishop’s Task Force to the Unhoused supports the efforts of parishes throughout the diocese that are walking these ancient paths alongside our unhoused neighbors.

In this new year, we would like to visit parishes in person to talk about what outreach you are doing and what needs we can help address. As we learn about these efforts across the region, we want to generate a set of “best practices” documents to guide people in their activities: How do you build a feeding program? How do you create safe parking? How do you help with ID recovery?

We will be contacting parishes that have been identified as conducting these various activities, but don’t wait for us! If you would like to schedule a visit, please contact Lizbeth Adams at 206.356.7391; lizbethanneadams@gmail.com; or Don Fornoff at mountaineerdgf@aol.com.

Blessings and gratitude to you all,

Lizbeth Adams
