Please join us in welcoming the Rev. Elizabeth Holland, who has been called to serve as Curate at St. George, Maple Valley. Elizabeth will begin that call on July 1, 2026.

Elizabeth is bilingual in ASL and English, and after being formed in both hearing and Deaf Episcopal church ministries, she started her discernment process at St. Matthew in Browns Point, WA. She interned at St. Michael’s and All Angels in Issaquah, WA, for just over a year before attending Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX. While at seminary, she continued to be formed at two field education sites: Calvary in Bastrop, TX (a large congregation), and Christ Church in Cedar Park, TX (a medium congregation), while also growing into a pastoral identity that leans on all parts of herself, both English and ASL. She is looking forward to serving alongside the congregation of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Maple Valley, WA, and stepping into this new chapter in life.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Western Washington, and she holds a BA degree in ASL/English Interpreting from Western Oregon University. She is a Certified ASL Interpreter and began her career interpreting in a variety of settings, including education, community, and liturgical and religious contexts. She has a wonderful and supportive family with her sister Jannie, her mother Lee, her brother-in-law Sean, and several fur-nieces and nephews of the dog-and-cat variety. She is a member of the Episcopal Conference of the Deaf, a national Episcopal organization since 1881.

Elizabeth can be reached at revelizabethholland@gmail.com.

Keep Elizabeth in your prayers as they prepare to begin their new call, along with all congregations and clergy in transition.
