Any experimental liturgy used during the primary worship service needs to be approved by the Bishop prior to use.
If you intend to use experimental liturgies please note that there are 60 days needed to approve. Liturgies should be submitted through this form (pleased do not email the Bishop or staff directly with liturgies for review). Experimental liturgies should be used for a season giving opportunity to receive feedback from your congregation.
Before submitting a liturgy, please review existing approved liturgical materials at the following two locations:
- Existing Liturgies on the website of the Standing Committee for Liturgy and Music (SCLM) of The Episcopal Church

- Liturgy and Arts webpage of the Diocese of Olympia
- (The mission of the Commission for Liturgy & the Arts is to be a dynamic liturgical resource for the Bishop, clergy, and parishes in the Diocese of Olympia and beyond. The resources on their page have come out of the commission and are approved for use in this diocese.)
After you have reviewed the available liturgies at both the Existing Liturgies page of the SCLM site, and the Liturgy and Arts page on ECWW’s website as outlined above, please then review the following guidelines for the creation of liturgies/liturgical texts, as outlined here:
