June 9, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Co-Sponsored by the Commission for Liturgy and Arts
For those of us who live in the United States, July 4, 2026, marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
In the midst of surging Christian Nationalism and the practice in some churches of celebrating secular and national holidays, we ask:
How might our parishes offer thanks and lament for the nation’s story in a time when corrupt and authoritarian voices seem to dominate the news?
Join us on Tuesday, June 9, at 1:00 pm (Pacific) as we discuss guidelines for Sunday, July 5, that can shape preaching, praying, and singing.
To register, send your email to openaplm@gmail.com with “250” in the subject line – and do so no later than Sunday, June 7, at 5:00 pm.
