Zimzum Discipleship: Practices for a Christ-Centered Life

We Americans are often called “consumers.” It seems our whole system of government and economics is reliant on what we produce, sell, and purchase. How we are doing is measured solely on financial results—if the market is up, or where the GDP is at, and the like.

Yet God invites us to be in relationship with the Created Order and to rely on God to meet our needs. These messages—one of overconsumption and the other of reliance on God—often seen at odds. The environmental crisis is a direct result of we human beings not keeping our use of natural resources in check.

As we think about embracing Zimzum Discipleship, one of the key aspects is in our relationship with the created world. Of our finding ways to consume less and share more. Lesson #3 in our series focuses on the call we have to limit ourselves and care for the created world as a key aspect of following the way of Jesus.
