From September 1, World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Christians all over the globe celebrate the Season of  Creation (SoC). This year’s theme is Peace With Creation

Congregations are invited to engage with the Season of Creation in their worship, formation, and community action. At the 2022 Diocesan Convention, we voted to adopt the Season of Creation. Thus, we “commend to and encourage all congregations in our Diocese to study and creatively adapt to celebrate and better understand Creation in their locality!” You can read the full resolution here (#5, page 11).

We will be updating this page, especially as events are shared! Is your church doing something special for SoC? Please submit any events here. Resources can be sent to Adrienne at aelliott@ecww.org.

Their mission is to address historical inequities in the ocean conservation movement and include historically excluded communities in the protection and enjoyment of the ocean’s ecosystems.
