Clergy Transitions in the Diocese of Olympia

It is a time of transition within our diocese, and we have new a clergy transition to announce.

The Rev. Ruth Anne Garcia has accepted a call as Interim Rector of Christ Church, Tacoma, effective November 28, 2021.

The Rev. Ruth Anne Garcia, who grew up in Montana, spent the majority of her ordained ministry on the East Coast as Priest-In-Charge of Grace Episcopal Church in Bronx, NY, Associate Priest for Faith Formation at Trinity Wall Street in New York, and Associate Rector at St. Columba’s, Washington, DC. Ruth Anne most recently served as Senior Associate Priest/Vicar at Epiphany in Seattle, Washington from December 2017-November 2021.

Mother Garcia joined Christ Church, Tacoma as Interim Rector on November 28, 2021. Ruth Anne is delighted to be given the opportunity to serve Christ Church, Tacoma and looks forward to working with the church leadership and congregation during their time of transition and into their vision and mission for ministry. While Mother Garcia will, at least initially, be commuting to Tacoma, she is excited to learn more about the city and may even bring her two little chihuahuas along for the ride on occasion!
