May 30, 2:00 pm
Come hear a presentation by Teresa Di Biase on how she came to write The Second Mother, a historical novel based on the true story of Margaret Peppers, an Episcopal deaconess who overcame personal tragedy to become an ally of the Japanese American community in Seattle and the White River Valley. During World War II, Deaconess Peppers accompanied her St. Peter’s congregation to the Minidoka incarceration camp in Idaho. Following the presentation, there will be a book signing and refreshments.
