BishopMartinBarahonaEaster Message of Resurrection from the Right Rev. Martín Barahona, D.D., bishop diocesan of the Episcopal Anglican Church of El Salvador: With much respect, love and admiration for the priests and members of the Episcopal Anglican Church of El Salvador, to all of our Salvadoran people, to our friends in our Province in the Region of Central America and to all who are united with us by a common faith in other parts of the world: Greetings and prayers to the one, living and true God, who is in our midst and who blesses us abundantly.

The Day of the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ is the most important day for us Christians of whatever tradition, so much that the Apostle Paul said, “If Christ had not risen, our faith would be in vain,” an expression that is found in the Holy Bible. It is for this reason that, with great joy, I want to greet all with the firm conviction that, indeed, it is certain for us as Christians that this Paschal Resurrection is the most important and momentous event; just as other expressions of faith have their own events that let them fully live their faith in the one God, who is unique, but with different expressions.

This feast of Easter, which we celebrate on April 20th, holds special meaning for me personally, being Bishop Diocesan of our beloved Episcopal Anglican Church of El Salvador because it is the Easter Feast; so I want to share it with everyone, the beautiful people with whom we have walked. I hope we will continue walking in the search of a world where all of us can respect and love each other as children of God. As the experience of Resurrection for us Christians is the renewal of our lives, I would want that all of us, from a perspective of faith, renew constantly our lives to be better fathers or mothers of our families, better sons and daughters, better neighbors, better workers, better citizens of our countries in such a way that we be an example for the world — this world, in which we want to build as a space of peace and mutual coexistence to fulfill that which we have said on many occasions, a new world. Not only is this possible, but also necessary so that we can grow jointly with nature and all the resources God has given us, so that each human being might be the principal reason of creation and have the necessary conditions to live in peace, being satisfied with all his or her basic needs. May we all have the opportunity to study, to prepare for a good job, a family, a decent housing, necessary food and the time to play and distract us, in the deep experience of a healthy spirit and in a good atmosphere.

For all, I send you my most sincere greetings of Easter Resurrection.
