Dear friends from all around the Diocese of Olympia:
As we prepare for Diocesan Convention 2024, it is time to gather the names of those in our congregations who have been baptized – and those who have died – since October 1, 2023. Once again, I am the person assisting the Commission on Liturgy & the Arts to gather these names for our printed Convention materials.
Here are the things you need to know as you report:
- Please separate out Baptisms and Necrology. If you have none of either, please specify that so I don’t need to follow up.
- Please send only first and last names – no middle names or dates. But church-related honorifics such as “The Rev.” or “OSB” are appreciated.
- Please include the names of all those whose deaths you marked liturgically, even if they were not members—but also members whose deaths you did not mark with a liturgy.
- If any of last year’s names didn’t get included because they died after last year’s deadline, feel free to include them this year.
- If you are aware of somebody whose name may somehow appear on the lists of more than one congregation, please let me know to check for that.
