A traditional Advent Lessons & Carols service is exactly what it sounds like: lessons from the Bible (scripture passages that tell the story of Jesus’ coming) and Advent carols (not Christmas carols) that correspond to the lessons. It is a quiet meditative time for reflection by candlelight, and if you don’t know the songs, you can simply listen. Reception to follow in the Narthex.
