Discover the ancient links between France and the Celtic Britain and Ireland by exploring Brittany and the Loire River Valley on a spiritually rich and stimulating journey. In Brittany, the itinerary includes famous landmarks such as the prehistoric standing stones of Carnac as well as Chartres Cathedral and Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, along with lesser-known sites such as the “Irish” monastery at Landevennec. Then, journey eastward to the picturesque Loire River Valley to explore sites associated with St. Martin of Tours, whose enthusiasm for the monastic way of the Desert Fathers and Mothers was carried to the Celtic lands. In the peaceful setting of Liguge Abbey, whose Benedictine monks will extend hospitality to us for two days and nights, there will be ample time to reflect on the gifts of the pilgrimage before returning to Paris and embarking on journeys home.
