November 21, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
December 10, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
The recent election season has brought into focus the heightened potential for civil unrest and violence in wider society. As clergy and lay leaders, what do we offer in these turbulent times? What tools can we draw on to help us be peacemakers in our communities? How can we encourage our communities – both within and beyond our church walls – to respond in courageous, effective and compassionate ways?
This one-day workshop aims to help participants to respond confidently to conflict in their communities. We will (re)introduce relevant tools from the fields of mediation and community engagement. Participants will then explore the practical application of these tools in the context of their own ministries. Woven throughout this workshop, there will be opportunities to reflect on the theological and spiritual significance of responding to conflict and social unrest.
Choose to attend one of the two available Zoom sessions: November 21, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, or December 10, 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
