Writing for Worship

May 16, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

For anyone who writes a text for worship: intercessors, preachers, leaders of prayer, and those who might want to write for worship. In this workshop, we welcome Dr. Gail Ramshaw, distinguished expert in liturgical language, who will lead participants in a discussion of guidelines that inform writing for worship and will invite participants to write during the workshop. This is a wonderful opportunity to consider how the words we use in worship shape the faith of the assembly for its life in the world.

Seating is limited. To register, follow the link below.

Registration fee: $25 includes morning coffee, vegetarian lunch, and all materials – to be paid with check or cash at St. Paul’s Church, Seattle, on May 16.

Limited parking is available in the parish parking lot, as well as parking on the street, the paid parking lot at Mercer and Warren Ave North, and at the Mercer Street Garage (across from McCaw Hall) between Third Avenue North and Fourth Avenue North.

This workshop is sponsored by Bishop Phil LaBelle and the Commission on Liturgy of the Diocese of Olympia. Questions? Send an email to Fr Samuel Torvend at torvensa@plu.edu. Click here for more on Gail Ramshaw.
