Please join us in welcoming The Rev. Bill Stanton, who has been called to serve as priest-in-charge at St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods, Freeland. David will begin that call on March 23, 2026.
Born and raised in Colorado, Bill has served in the Diocese of Colorado as an Episcopal priest for the past 10 years, most recently as rector of St. Alban’s, Windsor. Bill finds great joy in facilitating the discovery, nurture, and empowerment of God’s transforming love in individuals and communities, especially through worship, Christian formation, and living out the Gospel Word through service to others, with all ages. Prior to his call to the priesthood, Bill worked as a lawyer for twenty-six years, obtained his culinary degree, and assisted in opening a restaurant in Denver, Colorado. He comes to the Diocese of Olympia with his husband, Charles “Chuck” Mason, who, as a native of Maryland, is admittedly very excited to once again be close to large bodies of water.
A lover of the outdoors, Bill enjoys gardening, hiking, and amateur photography with his iPhone. Together, Chuck and Bill love to travel and learn about new places and new cultures, and eating really good food with really good company! They are very excited to begin their exploration of the Pacific Northwest, as it is an area very new to both of them.
Bill can be reached at wbstanton@outlook.com.
Keep Bill in your prayers as he prepares to begin his new call, along with all congregations and clergy in transition.
