Please join us in welcoming the Rev. Thomas Ortung, who has been called to serve as Interim at St. Thomas, Medina. Thomas will begin that call on August 10, 2026.
The Rev. Thomas Ortung is a board-certified chaplain who has served in parish and chaplain ministries in the Diocese of Olympia since 2008, including St. Andrew’s, Tacoma, St. David-Emmanuel, Shoreline, and St. Luke’s, Seattle. He has also served as an associate priest at St. Michael and All Angels, Issaquah, and St. John’s, Kirkland. Tom has just concluded a three-year ministry as priest in charge of St. Michael’s, Marblehead, MA. Together with his wife Jami, he looks forward to returning to the Diocese of Olympia to begin his ministry with the people of St. Thomas.
Tom and Jami have just celebrated their 37th anniversary and have three adult children, two on the Eastside and one in Calgary, along with a son in law and two grandchildren. They look forward to returning to Kirkland to be closer to family and all the great PNW and beyond has to offer. They enjoy hiking, bicycling, and traveling in their Airstream wherever the journey may lead.
Tom can be reached at tom@stthomasmedina.org.
Keep Tom in your prayers as he prepares to begin his new call, along with all congregations and clergy in transition.
