The Rev. Courtney Jones

The Rev. Courtney Jones

Dean, Iona School

Courtney Jones serves as Dean of the Iona School for Ministry, where she oversees the formation and training of lay and ordained leaders across the Diocese of Olympia. In this role, she coordinates programs, supports instructors and students, and collaborates with diocesan leadership to cultivate accessible, locally grounded pathways for theological education and faithful discipleship.

In addition to this work, Courtney serves as Canon Missioner for Total Common Ministry congregations, supporting these communities as they pioneer new models of lay-led, bivocational, and shared ministry. She currently also works in a quarter-time capacity as the Interim Vicar of Christ Episcopal Church in Anacortes.

Courtney is a graduate of an Iona Program in the Diocese of Northwest Texas, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Vancouver School of Theology (May ‘26). A second-career priest, she previously worked as an instructional coach and high school science teacher for nearly two decades. She was a bivocational deacon for several years before entering discernment for the priesthood.

Originally from the high plains of Texas, Courtney now lives in the Bellingham area with her wife Michele, two lazy dogs, and a Zoom-obsessed cat. She likes hiking, books, and exploring new places. She is always happy to talk about ministry, and would also love to hear more about where to get good Mexican food in Washington.
