Please join us for a traditional Advent Service of Lessons and Carols. The St. John's choir and choral scholars, accompanied by guest musicians will present choral works, interspersed with Advent Hymns and readings.
Begun at Truro Cathedral in a shed in 1880, a Service of Lessons and Carols has been an important tradition of the Anglican church ever since.
Join St. John's, Gig Harbor as they will name those who have died and light candles in their memory, while the choir ministers to souls with the singing of Mozart Requiem Mass.
A representative from the Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians will be sharing the history of the native people who lived in Gig Harbor and whose tribe continues to have prominent place in the south sound region and answering questions.

The Christmas Pageant will be a part of our Holy Eucharist service.
Join St. John's, Gig Harbor for the second annual series of concerts on Wednesdays in June and early July beginning at precisely 6:26 pm preceded by Plainchant Evensong at 6:00 pm.
With song and art we'll celebrate the resurrection (8 and 10 am) with a baptism at the 10 o'clock service, followed by an Easter potluck brunch at 11:30.
We'll gather to light the paschal flame in the gravel parking lot, around which we'll remain for the retelling of God's story of salvation in the Old Testament. We'll process into the church for the renewal of our baptismal covenant and the celebration of Christ's resurrection from the tomb.
Stations of the Cross at noon, followed by a spoken Good Friday liturgy at 6 and a sung liturgy at 8.
With the remembrance of the Last Supper and foot washing - will be celebrated in the context of a shared meal. We'll end by processing to the nave for the solemn stripping of the altar, followed by a Gethsemane Prayer Vigil.

St. John's Christmas Eve Pageant is woven into the Family Service in place of the Readings and Sermon. The children act out the entire Christmas story beginning with some of the Incarnation Prophecies and moving through the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Birth of Jesus and the Adoration of the Shepherds. It includes Christmas hymns and is followed by Holy Eucharist.
