This conference is designed to help us learn more on how to faithfully care for each other and God’s Creation. Learn about the relationship between social justice and creation care, get some practical ideas, and be inspired to make positive change. There will be a choice of several workshops covering making changes in your community, carbon offsets, sustainable eating, native plants, and teaching young people about taking care of nature. Safeguarding God’s Children
The Diocese of Olympia takes its responsibility for the safety of our people seriously. The Safe Church program teaches how to identify and prevent abuse within the church community, and is conducted several times per year, free of charge. Plate and Planet: Eating with the Earth in Mind
This conference will share information on the relationship between what we eat and the environment, practical ideas, and inspiration to make positive change. Keynote speaker is Brian Sellers-Peterson, Missioner for Agrarian Ministry and author: Harvesting Abundance: Local Initiatives of Food and Faith. Panel discussion will feature local people involved in community feeding programs in an environmentally friendly way. Workshops include: Health and Environmental Effects of Plastic Food Packaging, Backyard Bees, and How to start a Church or Community Garden.
