Any sermon preached in any congregation (by a preacher from any order) in the Diocese of Olympia from the First Sunday of Advent, 2016 (November 27, 2016) through September 03, 2017, is eligible for consideration. The winner will be announced at the 2017 Diocesan Convention and will be awarded $1,000.
Sermons will be accepted in either written or audio form. Sermons must be submitted by email to email@example.com with the preacher’s name and contact information in the email and with the sermon attached as a Word or PDF file, or with a link to the audio file (please allow for download, so we can preserve anonymity of preachers). The Propers used for the sermon must be included in the text of both the email and the Word or PDF file, if the sermon is written. The sermon should reference the date the sermon was preached but should not include any information about the identity of the preacher. This will enable the sermons to be anonymous when judged. Only one sermon per preacher.
Nominations must be received by September 30, 2017. The winner will be selected by a panel of lay and clergy readers.
One thought on “2017 Bishop’s Preaching Award”
I nominate the sermon preached by Carole Rodin at Christ Church, Anacortes, on (I believe) August 13, 2017.
