The Art of Liturgical Improvisation: Tips and Inspiration for Elevating your Hymns and Service-Playing

March 1, 7:00 pm

Dr. Caroline Robinson, assistant organ professor at the University of Michigan, shares her extensive knowledge of organ repertoire and improvisation. In The Art of Liturgical Improvisation, Dr. Robinson will share tips for effective and imaginative improvisations in the context of a church service, demonstrated by herself and a few lucky volunteers.

A gracious and gifted performer, Dr. Robinson’s improvisations intentionally highlight the colors and styles of the organ at her fingertips. Her incredible teaching skills enable her to meet students at their level and help propel them to the next. This class will be illuminating and captivating for all in attendance. Co-sponsored with the Seattle Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
