To the Good People of the Diocese of Olympia and the Diocese of Spokane. Your bishops write you with news of a friendly wager we are making in regard to the upcoming Apple Cup game this Friday between the Washington State Cougars and the University of Washington Huskies in what is sure to be a great game. The two of us have made a friendly bet on the team that resides in our diocese. Our bet is this, whoever loses will take the combined points from the final score, add a zero, and send that amount to Episcopal Relief and Development for relief from the fires, hurricanes, and other needs across our country and church.

We ask you to join us in offering our prayers for all those who, for whatever reason, a football game is the very last thing on their minds this Thanksgiving. So many of our fellow citizens are displaced, grieving, and unsure of their future. We also encourage you to give, in thanksgiving for the abundance you have, and the time you will share with loved ones in these days. You can join us in giving to Episcopal Relief and Development directly below.

Blessings to you and we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.

The Rt. Rev. Gretchen Rehberg, Bishop of Spokane
