Dear Ones,

Like many of you, I have been watching the news these past weeks with sickening dread as Russian forces have moved inexorably toward war and the invasion of Ukraine. There has been no justification for this act of brutal violence, hostility, and naked aggression. Already, innocent lives have been lost in this needless bloodshed. Throughout Europe, around the world, and indeed, within Russia itself, anti-war demonstrations are rising up to protest this assault on a sovereign, democratic nation.

I ask you to join me in prayer for our world today. Pray for the people of Ukraine, for those who will be living under the terror of conflict and violence. Pray for the people of Russia, especially for those protesting the war and facing the threat of arrest and detainment, that they would continue to be bold in the face of repression. And pray for our leaders around the world, that they would respond with wisdom.

I leave you with this video recording from a recent prayer vigil held by The Episcopal Church in conjunction with the Quakers’ Friends: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=684470716135768

Blessings,
+Greg
