Through intimate storytelling and critical reflection, the film introduces us to the praxis cycle – a framework inspired by Paulo Freire that teaches us that faithful action must flow from reflection, and reflection from action. By exploring one piece of ground in Cape Town through a few different perspectives, we learn to see our own spaces differently, too. We begin to see who has been excluded, and to recognize that restitution isn’t only about economics. It’s about memory, physical space, and reclaiming our agency to understand our immersions in the world so that we can act with compassion and justice. This event is made possible through a grant from the Episcopal Evangelism Society, the Circles of Color in the Diocese of Olympia, and the generous support of local partners.

March 21, 6pm at Holy Cross, Redmond
