December 14, 5:00 pm
St. John’s Adult Choir will offer Advent Lessons and Carols. Advent comes from the work adventus, which is the Latin word for arrival. In English we call this Advent.
This is the time in the liturgical calendar that we wait for the ‘arrival’ of the Christ Child. In the liturgical cycle of Year A, the Advent Season has themes of dark to light. We hear and see the darkness and look forward in anticipation of the arrival of the Light (Christ). To that end, we will celebrate our Advent Lessons and Carols through a lens of prayer, hymns, anthems, and poetry.
During this service, you will witness the themes of prophecy for the coming of our Savior.
