The Diocese of Olympia Elects The Rev. Philip N. LaBelle as Its Ninth Bishop
SEATTLE, WA (May 18, 2024): The Episcopal Diocese of Olympia has elected The Rev. Philip N. LaBelle as its next bishop. Bishop-Elect LaBelle currently serves as rector of St. Mark’s Church in Southborough, Massachusetts. While in the Diocese of Massachusetts, he co-led the Mission Strategy Committee, served on the Executive Committee and Diocesan Council, and directed the Fresh Start program. Bishop-Elect LaBelle will be consecrated and installed as the ninth bishop of Olympia on September 14, succeeding Bishop Greg Rickel,

Live-Streams for Meet & Greet Sessions with Bishop Nominees
The Bishop Transition Committee is pleased to share viewing details for the upcoming Meet & Greet sessions with the nominees for the Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Olympia. From April 29 through May 3, 2024, the Bishop Transition Committee and hosts from across the Diocese will hold five public live-streamed Meet & Greet sessions for the people of the Diocese to meet our bishop nominees. During each session, every nominee will have approximately 20 minutes to answer questions presented
Electing Convention
The Bishop Transition Committee is pleased to share details about the special Electing Convention for the Ninth Bishop of the Diocese of Olympia. Previously elected delegates will gather at Saint Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to consider a slate of four nominees presented by the Joint Board for Bishop Transition after receiving the recommendations of the Bishop Search Committee. Those not designated as Electors are encouraged to view the proceedings via the Saint Mark’s live-stream (www.saintmarks.org/livestream).
